Sutherland Oval will be the stage for the first-ever “Super Saturday” hosted by the Cronulla Junior Rugby League and St George Junior League this weekend. This event marks a significant gathering in the Southern Sydney Conference, featuring a full schedule of Rugby League games beginning at 10:00 am with the Aquinas Colts facing the Kogarah Cougars. The action-packed day will continue with several matches including a grand final rematch at 1:40 pm between St. Joseph’s and Gymea.
Highlights of the day will include the Dominelli GWM Junior Relay and the Laidre 100m Dash for Cash, testing the speed of players across age groups. The day concludes with a local rivalry match at 4:00 pm and a kicking contest where attendees can win $500.
John Mannah, CJRL Chairman, emphasized the significance of the event, stating, “Super Saturday promises to be a truly memorable day of community Rugby League and a great showcase for our clubs and competition in the Southern Sydney corridor.”
The event also supports community well-being, with the $5 entry fee contributing to the Gotcha4Life Mental Fitness campaign, aimed at addressing mental health challenges.
