Sutherland Shire Council has launched a public consultation for its new Draft Roads and Freight Strategy, aiming to reshape the area’s transportation framework over the next decade. This strategy, alongside three other related plans, is part of a broader Integrated Transport Strategy designed to tackle the challenges posed by increasing population and traffic in the region.
Key concerns identified by the community include traffic congestion and road safety, with initiatives proposed to enhance road safety and ensure efficient movement of both people and goods. The strategy also emphasizes the importance of partnerships to bolster the plan’s success.
Residents of Sutherland Shire are encouraged to participate in shaping the strategy by providing feedback online or in writing by May 10, 2024. Following the consultation period, the council will review the feedback and potentially amend the strategy before its final adoption.
